The CPU is/was good, as it had been working fine on Renee's ABIT-VA6 for months on end. > softset option, and I've been tweaking the Jumpers for the ABIT-BF6 > motherboard by hand. As in, I replaced the BF6 with a VT6X4 - and only the BF6 - with no problems as t all. If I had known it was a BF6, I would have warned you off - I've had issues with that mobo in the past. > At this stage it freezes on looking at the HD - trying to autodetect it. > I'm looking for the specs on the drive, but the drive is about as generic as > it can be. FWIW, I still have the old CPU, it's just in a difference case. It doesn't *LOOK* head damaged, but I've not tried it yet. If we can re-assemble it or get a P2/P3 slot-1 cooling fan assembly from somewhere, I can re-assemble that CPU if you want. -- -------------------------------------------- -- Kevin "The Alchemist" Sonney -- -- ICQ: 4855069 AIM: ksonney -- -------------------------------------------- 320C 0336 3BC4 13EC 4AEC 6AF2 525F CED7 7BB6 12C9
