"slocate emacs | grep bin" results in:   /usr/share/emacs/21.1/lisp/bindings.elc /usr/share/emacs/21.1/lisp/eshell/em-rebind.elc /usr/share/emacs/21.1/lisp/gnus/binhex.elc /usr/share/gtkhtml/keybindingsrc.xemacs /usr/share/gtkhtml/keybindingsrc.emacs /usr/bin/emacsclient "echo $PATH" results in:   sbin: /usr/sbin: /bin: /usr/bin: usr/X11R6/bin: usr/local/bin: usr/local/sbin   if i try "/usr/bin/emacsclient temp" to open a temp file, the response : complains about not having an server started. thanks for the help.
