I didn't get specific details, but he is doing something exotic with a remote server, and for whatever reason needs to have everything on one disk...

Doug Ledford has a Driver Disk development kit on his website: http://people.redhat.com/dledford/ If you do an "expert" or a "dd" install of Red Hat Linux, it will prompt you for the driver disk, then load the module and install it to the running system.
