Andrew, It's asking for the gnu c libraries version 2.2 (glibc2.2) Your best bet would be to use 3.3.6 on DragonLinux.
What version of DragonLinux? I'm assuming you installed the version for loop filesystems (where you could install it in your existing Windows partition). I had some problems getting it working correctly. I'd recommend dropping back to XFree86 v3.3.6 If you are looking for a linux or linux emu that you can run from within windows, check out www.cygwin.com as well. I use it on my Windoze boxes at work along with bochs.sourceforge.net which is a virtual machine software similar to VMware. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Liepins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, October 31, 2002 11:33 AM Subject: [TriLUG] XFree86 installation issues > Hi folks.. > > A fairly verbose caveat before my question... I'm a newbie at Linux - my last UNIX experience was in grad school about 8 years ago. I have installed DragonLinux (based on Slackware) on my IBM Thinkpad. The kernel installation was smooth. I had some difficulty getting XFree86 v.3.3.x up and running, so I updated to v.4.2.0. Upon my attempt to run "XFree86 -config", I received the following discouraging message: > > "/lib/libc.so.6 version 'GLIBC2.2' not found" > (or similar) > > I've dug around some resources to try to find some answers, but nothing has surfaced.
