5.1. What is the Barnes & Noble Card?
The Barnes and Noble cards used to be for discounts on O'Reilly books ONLY at local Barnes and Nobel stores. They expired in October, 2000 and are not likely to be renewed.
For your reference:
Barnes & Noble has a new card now called Reader's Advantage Member Card.
It is $25 to join and get 10% discount off everything from their store or
web online. I just got one recently.

i will second the recommendation for this member card. i got mine when i saw the new O'Reilly HACKS series all marked 30% off (another 10% w/ card). a good deal on some really cool books. (10% discount applies to everything in the store).
it stinks to blow $25.00, but if you buy a few books a year it will pay you back. plus, i've had problems with B&N locations accepting the trilug card (this was about 2 years ago - may have been fixed), so i went ahead and joined the BORG.
