I have never bothered with synaptic, but apt-get -f install should fix the broken packages and stop synaptic from complaining

Hey I tried that Synaptic just now to see what it was like and it
indicated that I had some "broken" packages. How do I "fix" them? I
tried going to "Upgrade All", but it said I had to take care of the
broken packages first. When I click "Remove" on a "broken" package it
tries to remove a bunch of packages, including ones that I want to keep.

with the correct dependencies?

Thanks,
Jeff
