I'm very fortunate that both myself (6 yrs) and my wife (4.5 yrs) are still gainfully employed at Cisco Systems in the park.
I've seen the employment threads this past week. Key points and my opinion: * there *are* IT/computer related jobs here, but you need to work all angles to get one and it may take a bit of time * times *have* changed and I think a significant portion of those employed in this field will *never* find similar jobs because of these changes The last point is proven by all of the layoffs in the industry that haven't had a significant impact on productivity or profits (and many times productivity/profits have increased). It's a different world, you have to adapt or you'll be left behind. --Reggie BTW, these are MY opinions, not those of my employer. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Philip Buckley > Sent: Friday, June 13, 2003 4:30 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [TriLUG] Employed/Unemployed Poll > > > > Just wondering how many people out here on the list are > currently out of work? > > Phil > > > _______________________________________________ > TriLUG mailing list > http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug > TriLUG Organizational FAQ: > http://www.trilug.org/faq/TriLUG-faq.html > _______________________________________________ TriLUG mailing list http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ: http://www.trilug.org/faq/TriLUG-faq.html
