Note that you must leave the power cable plugged in for that to be completely effective, so that any ESD has a path to ground. That assumes that you have a proper three-prong power cable and your outlet is properly grounded. Alternatively, and grounded wrist strap is a really good idea. It has a resistor inside it too to reduce the risk of shock should you accidentally touch something hot while you're grounded.
