The UNC surplus store is an interesting place. They pretty much fill
up the shelves with equipment, and it is very much chance what is
available from day to day. The prices are fixed at:

$20 for a monitor
$30 for a computer

I've gotten some pretty good IBM Trinitron monitors from them and they
allow one to power on the equipment at the store. They also carry misc
lab equipment, shoes surplused by the sporting teams (all of them are
of _huge_ sizes like 13+ mens), desks, chairs.

It is open from 8:00 til noon. It is best to be there early because
they do not restock the shelves after it opens. It is located in the
complex of UNC buildings next to the park and ride lot near the
intersetion of Airport Drive and Estes Drive Ext.
