I am running RH9 on a 700MHz P-III Dell system, and OS 9, AppleShare IP
version 6.3 file server on a Mac. I am having the strangest trouble. The
smbmount comes back without errors, or does not come back at all. Ether way
if I do a "df" command I get the correct information (at least it is the
same as I get from a PC running Windows 2000). If I do a "ls" command the
mount directory is there. If I do a "ls -l" command the mount directory is
not there. If I do a "cd" command I can change to the mount directory
without errors. If I do a "ls" command inside the mount directory I get a
"ls: .: Stale NFS file handle"error.
I have edited "/etc/fstab" and get the same results. To make check my
commands I changed from mounting directories on the Mac to mounting
directories on a Windows 2000 PC. Both the smbmount, and changing the
fstab files worked for the PC.
Thanks
Charles Fischer
