You could try the drivers at http://gatos.sourceforge.net/
I've used these in the past to have good 3D acceleration with Rage Mobility cards on laptops using XFree86 4.x series.

AFAIK, ATI RAGE series drivers are not really being upgraded in X 4.x.x.
You may want to try installing X 3.3.6. It worked well on my old ATI
Rage series.

Good luck.

Are there updated drivers for the ATI Rage Pro Ultra 128 for linux? We've
got one of those installed on a RedHat 9 box, and in order to open Enemy
Territory we've got to set the AllowSoftwareGL flag, which makes
everything run *extremely* slow. Is there some settings I can change to
enable openGL, does this card even have OpenGL, or are there some drivers
available? I've looked through Google and ATI's site, but didn't find
much. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff
