I am not sure how to handle this problem with a MacOS.   I do have a buddy
that may be able to help you out or point you in the right direction.  He is
a fellow photographer who works in HighPoint all with MacOS's.   I called
him and got an answering machine and plan on calling back later this
afternoon.  I will let you know once I hear back, if anything.  He may not
know how to technically perform the recovery but his computer guy may.

You can see MacOS filestructure in linux.  Not sure what to do after that...
Find a good tool.
