At the risk of offending the more jingoistic readers...

VB is your ticket.  Its part of Access.  It can open and do about
anything to an access database.  

If VB is not palatable for you but Excel is, then you might take a look
at the Jakarta POI project.  You would dump Access tables to Excel
Spreadsheets where you could have your way with them using POI.  Then
you would need to import the table back up to Access.  Yuck!
