try Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. apparently, it does a great job of rooting out spyware/malware on windows systems.

Oh crap. I was suspicious of those things but it was only a gut feeling.
I think I'll wipe down the family PC and convert it to a dual-boot system
with Linux as the default. W98 for QB and TT only. Gamecube makes Java
games so 5 minutes ago.
