I shoulda spelled this out better, but this machine has had an adaptec scsi controller and scsi drive as its main system for 3+ years with no such problems (once I got the QQ bios on the bp6). It's possible that it's the controller or cable or drive, but it seems like the maxtor testing would have verified at least 2 of those 3. I'd even like to blame the HPT-366 controller that I have it off of, but that seems less likely since Andre Hedrick had done that driver himself and had one of those controllers. I looked around and the QQ bios already on there is still the recommended one for a Linux box. IOW, I have basically all components in the "unlikely, but possible" category, and as such I was hoping for some additional info on which of the pile may be more likely than the others, esp. given the specific errors I'm seeing :) Thanks! -- James Manning <http://www.sublogic.com/james/> GPG Key fingerprint = B913 2FBD 14A9 CE18 B2B7 9C8E A0BF B026 EEBB F6E4 -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
