You need a CLIENT* to use clnt_control(), so I don't see how this will help.


Duh... you are correct... serves me right for not paying attention... Upon further review, I don't see any obvious way to affect the clnt_create() timeout. I think you're correct in saying that is depends on some underlying socket mechanism.


Unfortunately, (or fortunately depending on your perspective) the last
time I used RPC was a few years ago and my memory of those days is
pretty foggy...
