I'm a big proponent of purchasing OpenBSD CD's.  However, I recommend
that you do an ftp install first and see if you like OpenBSD before
purchasing so you're not out $50 if you decide you don't like it.

Note, however, that the CD's come with a large number of prebuilt
packages that you'd otherwise need to download.
