Well, you seem to be doing all the right things. The char-major messages basically mean you need to set up some aliases in /etc/modules.conf, but are otherwise harmless in my experience. > This whole thing obviously has something to do with gdm, the kernel, > nvidia drivers, or X. Since you're using the NVidia binary drivers, you have two choices : 1) File a bug with NVidia, because as long as you use the binary only drivers, no open source developer I know will touch this. 2) Switch to the nv 2-d driver for a while and see if the problem recurrs. If it does, then it's NOT and NVidia driver problem, and you can file it in the Fedora Bugzilla and hope the fix for the nv driver fixes it for the NVidia binary driver as well. - -- - ---------------------------------- - -- Kevin Sonney -- - ---------------------------------- 1024D/320C 0336 3BC4 13EC 4AEC 6AF2 525F CED7 7BB6 12C9 Although the Perl Slogan is There's More Than One Way to Do It, I hesitate to make 10 ways to do something. -- Larry Wall -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.5.8 <http://mailcrypt.sourceforge.net/> iD8DBQFAOO/sUl/O13u2EskRAiuqAJ9GWXiizxyrKecr2yAFL7R+41G4UQCgwQMs MG1DPqPnmzm0nGisth4lOR4= =GcaR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
