Possibly. There must be someone on the list with more experience than 
me with these things though. I started really getting into it a 
generation after that computer.

  USB?  will any card work here ( I have an intrex-special usb2.0)
     card.)  Do I need to look for drivers?  linux/mac support?
It has PCI slots, but drivers may be an issue, I really don't know.

  Can I use wireless with it?  I'd prefer usb wireless.  Do these
     work?  linux & mac support?
I dunno.

   Isn't there something like 'fink' that lets you use some
     open source software?  gcc?
