I have an old Gateway GP6-233 desktop case, part #3500423, unit for anyone who would like it. It's been stripped down to the motherboard & cables, CPU and 200W PowerSupply. The mobo, CPU, and PS were all working fine when I turned it off this afternoon. Gateway provides some documentation with pix at http://support.gateway.com/s/CASES/B00423/b00423tc.shtml. The unit in question uses the version 1 corporate front bezel, if it matters.
The case is good quality steel, about 15"x15"x7", with a plastic bezel and side panels, and will support a monitor up to about 50lb. It has 1 3.5 External, 2 5.25 External and 2 3.5 internal. It would be a good case for someone who likes to make custom mods or who is learning to build systems. The case would have to be mod'ed to add at least one fan to support newer, hotter CPU's, and there is a little room to work with. I live near Fuquay and am willing to drive as much as 30min from home (Mini-City, SmithField, 54/55, Apex, etc.) to keep it out of the landfill. If interested, send me an e-mail offlist.
