Run YAST and search for the missing stuff, check for dependencies and
install. Pretty painless in my experience, of course YMMV, keep your hands
and feet inside the vehicle, don't feed the penguin cheetos.. Etc..

Subject: [TriLUG] suse ftp/nfs install. stuff not included

all,

i just did my first SuSE install. i downloaded the 9.0 ftp directories and
installed from a local NFS server therefore this should be the same thing
that you get if you do an install using their ftp server.

<disclaimer>
i should have paid more attention during the install when it said something
about "services not included" or something like that.
</disclaimer>

i've got the OS running and was going to use this machine to replace my
windows 2000 server for services that my windows desktop needs (user
authentication) and for my internal network service (dhcp, internal dns,
etc.).

so it appears that some (a lot) of these services are not part of this
install. did i miss some step in the install process? are these things not
there in this version? are they somewhere that i'm not expecting them to be?

anyone have any ideas?

thanks,
stan
