looks like the device is a raid level 1..

cat /etc/raidtab
raiddev /dev/md0
raid-level 1
nr-raid-disks 2
chunk-size 64k
persistent-superblock 1
#nr-spare-disks 0
    device /dev/hdd1
    raid-disk 0
    device /dev/hdc1
    raid-disk 1

But still.. how I do I preserve the raid while upgrading the system? Ugh. I'm tired, need sleep.

I've never messed with a raid system. Tomorrow I have to upgrade a 7.1 system with raid to White Box EL - here's the output from df -h:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda9 594M 71M 493M 13% /
/dev/hda1 61M 4.9M 52M 9% /boot
/dev/md0 19G 601M 17G 4% /raid
/dev/hda6 2.4G 824M 1.4G 36% /usr
/dev/hda7 2.4G 35M 2.2G 2% /usr/local
none 188M 0 188M 0% /dev/shm

I'd like to not format anything but "/", which I can do during the install. /raid houses a couple directories:

/home
/backups
/lost+found
/test
/var

Any pointers on how I can upgrade this system, not scramble and reformat /raid yet upgrade 7.1 to WBEL?

I'm heading to the attic to dig up my 7.1 RH book.

errr.. I love this short notice "can you help but I can't pay you" stuff!
