Hi! I've been waiting for a good time to post to the list. I just moved back to Raleigh, but I haven't been able to make it to any LUG meetings. Anyway, I've been reading the list for a couple of months now to get a feel of what this LUG was like. You TriLUGgers seem a lot brighter than the people at the last LUG that I attended. So since you seem so bright, I want to bribe one of you to do my dirty work.
I have two gmail invites to give away. I'm willing to give one away to anyone that can give me a simple and elegant way to automatically block IPs of people that make multiple attempts at sshing into my machine using accounts that do not exist (ie. test, guest, admin). I use IPTABLES ;) The other one will go to someone that can remind me of the apache directive to keep apache from error logging MS exploits (like the CMD.exe and ROOT.exe exploit). I did it once, but I forgot what the httpd.conf directive is. I've got too many other things on my plate to worry about these things right now, but maybe a kind lugger out there would like a 5 minute challenge. Hope to see you at the next meeting. -James -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
