Well due to popular demand *grin*, here it is. You can download my RCS bash wrapper script around vim, entitled cvim, here:Personally, I prefer and use RCS. It's super light-weight, really
straight forward, and I have a nice bash wrapper script around vim which
takes the tedium out of check in and check out. Basically, the script
does everything for you. It's a little rough around the edges (it
doesn't handle filenames with spaces in them very elegantly, at the
moment) but other than that it's perfectly serviceable. If anyone is
interested in it I'll clean it up and post it.
I'd certainly be interested.

It was originally written only for my personal use, and then departmental use. It's seen at least a good year of usage now, by myself and others, so hopefully it's pretty bug-free. It's really ugly code, and it's very verbose. No picking on what I wrote in an afternoon on a sudden whim. :) Credit for the original ideas goes to Tom Limoncelli, where such a wrapper script is a side-note in "The Practice of System and Network Administration". As a reminder, if you like my script, you should come hear him speak this Monday at the North Carolina System Administrator group's meeting. :)
