Dyndns.org uses HTTP and cgi for the client update interface http://www.dyndns.org/developers/specs/
Of course they do have stable ip addresses for their name servers. I haven't thought through how this would or wouldn't work in the case where the dynamic dns server also had a dynamic address. There also seem to be some security exposures since client validation is done via url validation which sends the account and password info in the clear. -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
