Out here at ASU, we have our meetings the first Thursday of the month, then LAN party the following Friday night. We always strictly restrict it to games that work on Linux (UT2K4, America's Army, Castle Wolfenstein, etc) although Windows boxes do show up anyway. Last week the theme was old-school games that have been ported. I had to miss it unfortunately because it sounds like it was a lot of fun; the top game was Duke Nukem 3D, with a lot of WolfGL and Quake 1 (not sure if it had the TeamFortress mod or not). So I have to use the term "LAN" lightly because I think Quake was the only one that could be played that way, but no matter.
They're talking about getting another one of those together again soon because apparently it was more fun than anyone anticipated; if they do, I'm bustin out the Atari 7800 :-) -Jeff On Tue, 2004-12-07 at 10:42 -0500, Brian Henning wrote: > THIS Thursday? aww mannnnn... and I was all prepped to go out and buy a > wireless card and beg my dad to let me borrow his laptop for that bzflag > tourney.. but this thursday I have to be an angel in my church's christmas > presentation... > > <plug> > It's a really neat presentation by the way, runs wed-sat this week.. if > anyone is interested, e-mail me off-list for details. > </plug> > > We oughta have more frequent TriLUG lan parties.. as long as I don't have > to organize them.. haha, no, actually I'd be willing to step up now and > then and organize such a thing, if enough folks are interested. > > Cheers, > ~Brian > > -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
