You have to get your video card doing 3d. The simplest way is to try the knoppix game cd if you have an ati or nvidia video card.
That's probably it... the machine is a Compaq I got at BJ's, I know the card has 64MB but I'm not sure what make it is. It is the family machine I sneak the Knoppix CD into from time to time.
