but i learned to drive in NC, and i'd have to agree... North Carolinians (for the most part) aren't prepared to drive in cold weather conditions... The thing out here in CO is that people drive 60mph through the snow, but when it rains traffic slows to a standstill. too bad you can see the lane lines when it's raining, or else i'd go around all the idiots then too :-D
i heard about the ice-storm and i'm glad the only thing that was wasted was time. sounds like a hectic time though... are things still anywhere near bad, or did they clear most everything up?
oh, and if anyone wants to make a TriLUG ski trip, come to some real mountains...I'll show ya a good time...
happy off-topic friday..

Okay we're all getting PRETTY off-topic, but what the hey, it's Friday. It's all my fault... I started it.
I have a theory: Wherever you learned to drive, and formed your basis
for what is "normal" driving, tends to be your litmus test vs. wherever
you are. Thus, if you learned to drive in New York, you think everybody
should drive like New Yorkers, and other people suck. Or, if you learned
to drive in Indiana, you think people from Florida cannot drive (Like
me).
Or, I'm completely wrong. That's the last I'll add to this off-topic discussion. Happy Friday, everybody!
P.s. I've never been to the Carolinas, but I want to someday, I bet it's
really nice there.

If it were up to me, allNorth Carolinians should stay home during any inclement weather, and
drive out.let only those of us from the North and Midwest who know how to
I'm pretty sure you'll find that the coefficient of friction between rubber and ice is the same for North Carolinians, Midwesterners and Yankees.
Likewise, I believe that hydroplaning works the same for all 3 groups. I have never known the laws of physics to make exceptions based on stereotypes...
[JR> ] me thinks that folks not happy here should go back home
