I have used pivot in the past.  Worked pretty easy and was as simple as gallery 
to setup.  No database needed.  Need apache and php.

Simple, easy to use/install, doesn't require a database.  Also has a cool 
static mode which means it doesn't run as a CGI/PHP/Perl/TCL/abc script in your 
webserver.

I've never understood why so many blog applications use database backends.  
Seems kinda silly to fire up an instance of MySQL or similar to power a diary.
