I use a couple of kvm switches ( one is the IOGear blob).  One problem
I've seen is that they draw power from the keyboard/mouse connector.

This means it is hard to use them with dual headded systems -- because
there is no place to plug in the extra cables. If you ever have to power
off one of the two systems, it takes the monitor with it ( even though
the other computer is on).
