i struck out on that one.  me thinks i'm going to try Jim Wright's code 
bring i can see straight.  my 8 mon old is cutting teeth and screamed 
his head off from 1 - 4 am this morning.

Try using this to generate your new line: "&#10" It is the ASCII value for a
new line, or line feed so it should generate the proper character. Let me
know if this works, my brain is still Monday Morning Fuzzy.
