no one bothered to follow up with me on setting a date for the meeting. the next thing i heard, TriLUG is putting their own thing together and did not bother to include me in any way. i'm calling BS on that move. i don't really care about the links as long as policy is uniform. folks that make the policy and enforce it are the ones that have to look themselves in the mirror every day. frankly, my dear, i just don't give a dagnabbit.
Looking at the archives for the Steering list, you said you might
be able to sponsor us in 6 months (this was back in Feb). You also
said you'd like to have a meeting to "discuss open source alternatives
to commercial software as well as best practices in the field for
either choice." That is something completely different from what TriLUG is doing in May. What we're doing in May is letting
people ask questions about distributions that they might
not know very well.
