This isn't going to be helpful; I'm just commenting:

Firefox's behavior with the Flash Plugin is totally opposite for me. I'm hard
pressed to get Flash to recognize keyboard input. Normally I have to raise
another window, then click on Firefox's title bar (only the title bar, I can't
just raise it or click in the window), then click within the flash movie, then
leave my mouse inside the plugin area, for if it comes out, so does keyboard
access.

On a different note, I never had a problem with banner ads. In fact, I feel
that they're totally appropriate. What is totally inappropriate is if it's an
animated ad. Animated GIF, Flash, whatever. Especially Flash. If you think
of it in terms of bandwidth cost, I'll bet a flash ad actually costs you more
than it will ever bring in. What a waste.
