I'd like to get apt-get working from within $BIGCOMPANY. As it stands, there is a proxy. If memory serves, and google is correct, I should be able to put the following line into /etc/enviornment and have my apt-get be able to hop onto the Internet and grab files:
http_proxy="http://<username>:<password>@proxy.company.com:8080/proxy/" However, this does not work. Does anyone have any ideas why not?
