I rather like that at any time, I *can* listen to any one of my songs, and don't have to keep paying for the privilege of doing so.

and its not worth it.

I would consider trying to re-download over 4500 unique songs at a
price of .99 each almost irrecoverable.  I don't' have the $4500 to
recover them, nor the time to download them one by one. For the
un-Napsterish files - ripping all or part of over 1200 CD's takes an
unimaginable amount of time.

.99 each if you're using iTunes, cheaper if you subscribe to some of the other services and and just listen to the streams. How often do you actually listen to each of the 4500 songs ?
