one of my first customers has offered up a huge meeting space with 8 or
10' rear projection screen and vga input. we have a 45 Mbps backbone to
the Internet as well and could broadcast Video over IP if anyone wants
to chair that facet of the project.
i've got software from Emu Software, Inc. that manages Linux servers and
plan to bring two boxen (the old topbox and bottombox) for installation
as well as the president and engineer for the company if possible.
a couple of people that used to meet at my house last year for the RHCE
study group have expressed an interest in continuing our meetings and in
installing the Emu software as a meeting focus.
we're meeting 23 june 2005 from 7-9 PM to check out the space. if some
others are interested in joining us, contact me offline to make
arrangements. i'm sure we can squeeze in a few folks yet must have a
firm head count and keep the numbers low so we don't wear out our
welcome the first time. if all goes well, we have plenty of room to grow...
regards,
jim

Hi,
Jim!
Looks like we can get the Zanzibar room on June 23 from 7-9pm. I'll book
it for you. Let me know if anything changes so I can release the room booking...
Thanks!

tim,
what's gwine on? been
a long time. i've purposely not tried to follow up on that linux lab and
video over ip that we had discussed until now. things got a little busy
and still are; however, you've got to make time for what is
important.
i talked to a couple of the
old gand that used to meet at my house for the linux labs each week.
we're interested in doing it again except shooting for a monthly instead of
weekly meeting.
any chance we could schedule
one trial meeting at exploris on the 4th thursday from 7-9 PM perhaps on 23
June? i can bring a couple of mini PCs for units under test, a kvm and a
switch. if it flies, we should consider getting the word out and doing
some press on linux education. good PR wouldn't hurt either of
us...
lemme know what you
think.
seeya,
jim
ps i've got an IT Roundtable
going at the Cardinal Club each month. check it out, and come join
