Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know I had a fine time last night at the
meeting. I was pleased to meet a few of you, but unfortunately I wasn't
able to match faces to email addresses too well. In case you're
wondering, I was the overweight thick-haired fellow wearing dark olive
shorts, a blue shirt and glasses sitting over against the left wall even
with the 2nd or 3rd table.
The topic was a bit over my newbie head since I haven't really gotten
into software dev or even kernel upgrades much yet, but I did get some
useful info out of it. Has anyone considered applying this technology
to simple document version management? I'm a big proponent of Jef
Raskin (RIP) and one of his edicts was that no data should ever be
inadvertently destroyed - I could see Conary (or at least a derivative)
being very useful in this regard.
Anyway, I'll probably not be able to make the next meeting due to
previous commitments but maybe August...?
Cheers,
Tom
