My roommate registered his domain name with Clark Connect (or the parent
company). We use the clark connect home edition (the free service), and
I believe that CC has some kind of proprietary program that runs on our
machine that periodically contacts CC and tells them its IP address. I
searched briefly to see if I could find a page on their site that gives
you better detail about the setup, but didn't find anything easily. If
you want more info, feel free to contact me offlist and I'll try to find
out more details for you. I believe the registration for the name is
$20/yr, and that gets you the dynamic dns service, the domain name, and
mail server backup service (in case your mail server goes down...)
