As I was driving the other day listening to a CD in the car, I got to wondering if any of the FOSS media players have the ability to play an audio file and change the tempo while leaving the pitch unchanged. This is something which some musicians use to try to learn tunes, riffs or solos from a recording by ear*.
I tried google, but I don't seem to have come up with the right search terms. * In particular the inspiration came from listening to my old "John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton" CD. Back when I was much younger, I managed to learn most of what old Eric did on this album (actually back then it was the vinyl version) but there were a few nuances that I never managed to figure out. Of course now, I'm fighting not just my ear, but arthritis! -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/ TriLUG PGP Keyring : http://trilug.org/~chrish/trilug.asc
