Another point I was going to make in my reply to Jon -- but didn't.


For many years I have "quoted" an example from the Apollo days, showing
how Marshall Space Flight Center and Kennedy Space Center ( and other
such installations ) had large and thriving "amatuer" musical
communities among the scientists, such as the philharmonic orchestra
completely staffed by "rocket scientists."
