Firstly, please don't hijack message threads. Many mail clients key off of headers which are retained in replies to determine that a message is part of a particular thread. Simply changing the subject line is not sufficient.
Regarding the problem itself, you may wish to investigate the use of ACLs, if your distribution and filesystem of choice supports them.
