has anyone out there in triLUG land migrated a database driven web
app, either java or PHP based (or combo), from Linux to Solaris 10? I
was wondering how that went and just how difficult it was. To hear
Sun talk it sounds like migrating such an app would be fairly simple,
but I know as well as anyone that it must be more difficult then that.

The Sun Starfire V240 is a sweet little box with it's quad gig
ethernet controllers, lots of RAM, good processors, SCSI drives, dual
power supples, etc, etc, etc, etc. I am thinking of migrating an app
running on a very, very outdated Linux machine (RH 7.1 I think with
mysql back-end db) with substandard hardware and while I'm at it I'm
thinking of upgrading the whole thing to a starfire platform. Maybe.

Thoughts?
