Apparently they've switched to VxWorks, and halved the available RAM and
Flash memory. It doesn't
say specifically one way or another if it's actually impossible to replace
the VxWorks firmware with
Linux firmware, but the implication seems to be that it's tough or
impossible.

I don't suppose this has any impact on other vendors who ship devices built
on the same
chipset as the Linksys though... OpenWRT claims to support several other
boxes, so maybe
this is no biggie, just a loss for Linksys / Cisco. <shrug>
