Ok, this article goes into more detail:
<http://blogs.zdnet.com/open-source/?p=491> Apparently they've switched to VxWorks, and halved the available RAM and Flash memory. It doesn't say specifically one way or another if it's actually impossible to replace the VxWorks firmware with Linux firmware, but the implication seems to be that it's tough or impossible. I don't suppose this has any impact on other vendors who ship devices built on the same chipset as the Linksys though... OpenWRT claims to support several other boxes, so maybe this is no biggie, just a loss for Linksys / Cisco. <shrug> TTYL, Phil -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/
