Subject: [TriLUG] NIS on Linux (debian)

Question for whomever....

I have NIS master server up and running and users are able to login with thier
accounts from NIS clients just fine. But, when I create a new user in
/var/yp/passwd file and add them to the group that I need them to be in under
/var/yp/group, and then do a make.... The make updates everything, but for some
reason on an of my solaris servers the nis user does not have permissions to
login. "access denied"

Now I can ypcat passwd and see this new user in the passwd file, and do a
ypmatch and see the account as well, but if I do a su - user
It responds
Su: Unknown id: user

Or if I just try and login it gives me an "access denied" after I put in the
password,

Any help guys ?

Thank you :)
