When OS/2 was new it was a great OS, for the x86 arena anyways. The
first Lan Manager Domain that I worked in used a pair of 486 systems,
one for the Domain Controller, one for the File server, it grew from
there. We had about a hundred DOS / Win3.x systems logging in to that
domain. That was in 88.
Today I work for a place that still has a couple dozen OS/2 systems.
Running on everything from desktops to HP Proliant ML530's. We have to
go with used systems for any replacements now, not too many of the new
systems are fully compatible with OS/2. Rumor has it that we will be
rid of the last of the NT4 before the last of the OS/2, and that
deadline is late 06.
