yes, the latter.

It requires a bit of setting up and figuring out the syntax of the conf files. I have all the partitions (/, /usr, /src) from the server exported, so on the client I have the server's directories all mounted under the server's name.

/server_name/
/server_name/usr/
/server_name/src/

They are all mounted and umounted together by automount
