Magnus - your point is well taken, and of course the honorable Mr. Balog is, as usual, wise and wary in his approach to discussion on the topic.
I would never dream of slighting OpenNMS - in fact, OpenNMS IS on my list as an option, and I was not aware it does have an inventory feature built-in. OpenNMS has an amazingly robust developer/support community and a superb support site. And of course, it's use of SNMP would dovetail nicely with the Dell OpenManage product already in use.
