Actually, IIRC, they did do something like that a few years ago with SQL
server.  Writing the password in plaintext in the installer log.  I
think (*think*!  I have no idea whatsoever.  This is a foggy memory that
may or may not be accurate.  If ingested, call a search engine.) that
the patch came a month later.
