Speaking of John Glenn, my only watched launch was STS-95, his return to space on Discovery... I had a NASA Causeway pass... :) :) :) I video-taped it, something I have yet to capture to a usable computer format, but I tell ya, I did a crappy job filming since I really wanted to see it with my own eyes (directly and not through the lens). I hear the night launches are spectacular! :)
Y'all might have noticed that my sig includes the url to a web site I run on Project Mercury which is a particular interest of mine, something about being a lad of 10 or so at the time. <brag> In the course of doing my research on Mercury I've developed e-mail friendships with some folks close to the program. One of them is Kris Stoever, Scott Carpenter's daughter, and the co-author of his autobiography. I got an email from Kris last week just before I went into the hospital wished me godspeed on my recovery. I replied saying that getting 'godspeed' from a Carpenter made me feel like that John Glenn fellow. </brag> -- Rick DeNatale Visit the Project Mercury Wiki Site http://www.mercuryspacecraft.com/ -- TriLUG mailing list : http://www.trilug.org/mailman/listinfo/trilug TriLUG Organizational FAQ : http://trilug.org/faq/ TriLUG Member Services FAQ : http://members.trilug.org/services_faq/
