Actually, the ipw2200 is quite well supported - the only "gotcha" for most distributions is the necessity of using a firmware blob which can't be redistributed. As a result, most distributions do not ship this blob. In the case of RHEL, it can be acquired from the Extras channel (package name is "ipw2200-firmware"). If you're using Fedora, the Livna repository (http://rpm.livna.org) also packages it using the same package name. -- David W.
